matt + ellie | baby on the way

Everything about this shoot felt like pure magic!  When Matt & Ellie contacted us about shooting their maternity session we felt so honored to document such an exciting time in their lives.  They are expecting their first son and we are just ecstatic to meet him!  We have plans to shoot their new little guy in the comfort of their home in the well crafted nursery that Ellie has been so diligently working on since hearing the news.  Knowing just how creative Ellie is we thought we would have a little fun with this session and asked them to bring along some special items they were planning on having in the nursery.  We rented a few fantastic vintage chairs from a mutual friend and designer Beth O’Brien, set up a textile backdrop in the middle of this breathtaking Matilija field, and had so much fun in this environmental photo booth!  We have seen something similar done before but had no idea just how fun it could be:)

Matt and Ellie, we are just so excited for the two of you.  Our time together was such a blessing.  Witnessing such an amazing time in your birth story was a privilege.  Now we can’t wait to meet little Jonathan for ourselves!
