Habitat for Humanity Part Un {Lynwood, CA}

Back in December of 2009, Kevin and I had the privilege of participating in the wall raising ceremony celebrating one of Habitat for Humanity Greater Los Angeles sites in Lynwood, CA.  We have since served on the core planning committee for our faith community, Mosaic, which has raised over $150,000 towards the bulding of Habitat’s 10 units to be completed later this year.  Each month we gather volunteers to help participate in the building process.  I am always amazed each time we go back.  The amount of progress we witness each time we return to the site is truly remarkable.  More than the progress we see on the houses themselves, we are so touched by the amount of volunteers that show up on a Saturday or Wednesday to do whatever  is asked of them to do.

It is one thing that Kevin and I truly enjoy doing together and we invite anyone interested to serve along with us.  For more information on different build days available contact us or log onto the ServeLA website to find out different volunteer opportunities in the Los Angeles area.

Here are some images from our most recent time out on the site.
