We spent a lovely afternoon with the ever talented, whittler extraordinaire, Elaine Strawbridge.  Elaine is the creative force behind BE.WoodCraft, an inspired collaboration between her father Bob and herself.  Though miles apart Elaine {Echo Park Resident} and her father {located in Palatine Illinois} create beautiful, whimsical, and iconic pieces of  jewelry hand crafted from wood.  With an array of hard woods, these one of a kind, whittled works of art, were inspired by the unique bond between loved ones.   After spending a day with Elaine, watching as she prepared for her latest shipment to ANTHROPOLOGIE and BHLDN, we began to dream up the fun ways a bride and her best gal could integrate the whilttled hearts and wishbones in to the wedding day.

We dove into Elaine’s amazing collection of vintage Gunne Sax dresses, invited along her best gal Lisa, gathered bits and pieces of lovely to complete the story and voila! As Kevin and I culled through the images I couldn’t help but swoon over so many details.  Elaine’s vintage floral and lace dress paired with a wide brimmed hat are breathtaking.  Her hand carved purple heart draped around her neck and the lace bound bouquet of wild flowers with fresh mint…. spectacular.

BE.WoodCraft’s one of a kind pieces can be found at select ANTHROPOLOGIE stores and BHLDN.  For more information about Elaine and her father head over to www.bewoodcraft.com Creative Direction and Styling by The Why We Love Wooden Hearts and Wishbones by BE.
